Simone Claire Harms

poem

i can write a poem- no Kidding,

i can write, say, about a Skull

(and skin) (and hair) (and fire)

(and God) (and valleys) (and

people) (and illness) (and burial)

and i can write about a candle

burning holes in the dark. your

jealous finger tracing the hem

of her shoulders, my own, who

Am sadly around all of the time.

this heavenly life is not, always,

it seems, forbidden. god Damn

you Diane; who gave me such a

wanting and knives, knives, kni-

-ves. i will be the dog of Our

love. you can call me simone

poem (where to)

(a prayer)

oh lord

i don't want to fuck men anymore.

instead, i'm reading about lobotomies

(and it has nothing

to do with the fact

i don't want to fuck men anymore).

y'know

sometimes i get so goddamn blue

i sleep in a puddle

cuz i got this job at the mirror maze,

so i can pay to cut

the right wrong parts out of me, -

y'know

sometimes i feel so low i could sew

myself to an anchor,

an airbag cradling my hair, & (god bless

the inconsistencies)

an appaloosa trampling my fingers.

help me.
