I will say
I never thought I’d tire of pink
I thought even if life is change, pink
might be permanent. My bedding, my clothes
My lips chapping in the cold
And of course my
trembling tongue.
I’ve been more pink than a pig
on a pile of pigs
on a slaughterhouse floor.
I’ve been more pink than a pig
and her litter of pigs
who are pressing against her
sucking her dry
